Week 2 | James | Temptation

James 1:13 invites an honest look at faith when life does not unfold the way we expected. The tension is personal and practical: James talks about this idea that when we go through trials… WHEN not if… we need to have an understanding about temptation is, and how it functions— and all that is a huge part of our Spiritual walk with God and how we manage life.

Themes of temptation, james, trust, goodness point toward the way God's presence reshapes our circumstances. Rather than letting confusion harden into bitterness, we can bring our questions into the sanctuary of God's truth and learn again to trust the Father: Because if i decide to not trust in the goodness of God, i will be completely open to not trusting any part of God’s character or his truth. And it's fascinating; often times the things that you would say “this is the greatest area of trial in my life right now— often times that’s gonna be tied to a specific area where you are tempted to not trust in God’s goodness.” Your area of greatest temptation to not trust the goodness of God is tied to your greatest trials.
