What would it feel like to be fully known, with every thought, word, movement, fear, and hidden place laid bare? Psalm 139 answers with something better than fear: the God who knows all, sees everything, and is present everywhere also knows us completely, sees us as we truly are, and still loves us.

David's prayer moves from awe to surrender. God's hand before and behind us is not a trap, but protection. Even darkness is not dark to Him, and no place is too high, too low, too distant, or too broken for His guiding presence. The invitation is simple and searching: 'Search me, God, and know my heart,' exposing anxious thoughts, removing offensive ways, and leading us in the way everlasting.
